This article addresses the question of how to write a single check from the trust bank account on behalf of multiple trust accounts.
From time to time, it may be desirable to write a single check from the trust bank account, on behalf of more than one trust account, to a common payee. For example, if there are multiple trust accounts making payments to your firm at the same time, you can save blank checks by using only one check to transfer the funds from the trust bank account to your firm's operating account.
Enter a manual check transaction with the same check number for each trust account. This requires you to write the single check to the payee manually rather than having TAS print it.
