OVERVIEW
The SUPERPRO program is used to convert photocopy, postage, phone, fax, Federal Express,
courier, and mileage expense transactions from a General Meters Superpro copy machine
controller/counter to be compatible with the TABS III Import Data from Data Capture
Devices program.
The SUPERPRO program must reside in the same directory as the TABS III programs in order
to work properly.
NOTE: This program assumes that the ACCOUNT field is defined to be 10
characters in length. Otherwise, the records will be ignored and you will see a message
indicating that the data format is incorrect.
Note: This DOS program cannot be run under a 64-bit operating system. Although it can be installed on a 64-bit server, it must be run from a non-64-bit workstation.
INSTALLATION
EXECUTING THE SUPERPRO INTERFACE PROGRAM
Use the following procedure for conversion:
1) Transfer the data from your Superpro controller to your computer's hard disk. The data
must reside in the TABS III program directory under any valid DOS file name (default file
name = SUPERPRO.DTA).
2) Invoke the conversion program by entering: SUPERPRO filename
filename is optional and designates the name of the file to be converted (default file
name = SUPERPRO.DTA).
3) The first time you run the SUPERPRO program, you will be asked to enter the TABS III
transaction code number that you use for photocopy charges. Once you specify the
transaction code number, the SUPERPRO program will use that same number each time you run
the SUPERPRO program. You can also specify the TABS III transaction code numbers used for
postage, phone, fax, Federal Express, courier, and mileage charges. If you do not use your
Superpro controller to capture one or more of these charges, then enter zero when prompted
for the TABS III transaction code.
4) Next, you will be asked "Is it OK to continue? (Y/N)". If you enter
"N", the program will be aborted. If you enter "Y", the program will
look for the file named SUPERPRO.DTA containing the Superpro data (or the filename that
you specified when you started the SUPERPRO conversion program). If the file is found and
it contains data, the program will display the message "Converting Transactions"
followed by a "." for each transaction read from the file. The files
T3EXPKEY.REM and T3EXP.REM will be created which can be merged with the main TABS III data
files. You must then startup TABS III and run the Import Data from Data Capture
Devices program.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to clear the transactions from your Superpro
controller's memory to avoid duplication of data merged with your TABS III files.
If you are not using a demo version of the program, the Superpro data file will
automatically be deleted when the Superpro conversion program is done to avoid
double-posting of the data.
NOTE: You may change any transaction code in the future by deleting the
file SUPERPRO.PRM which is created in your TABS III directory during Step 3 above. This
will enable you to go through the setup procedure described above in Step 3 as a first
time user of the program.
