Taskbill Integration Requirements for
TABS III and Center for Claims Resolution

This document provides technical information about how to set up TABS III in order to facilitate the export of information to the format required by the Center for Claims Resolution. Please review this document carefully before attempting to export data for the Center for Claims Resolution.

Special Field

There is a special field required for the Center for Claims Resolution that is not in TABS III. This field is the Client Case Number. The client case number must be stored in the TABS III client file. Available locations include miscellaneous lines 1-3, beginning statement notes lines 1-4, ending statement notes lines 1-4, and client notes lines 1-150. You will have to make sure to set up all of your Center for Claims Resolution matters the same way so the client case number is not missing in the electronic data file for any individual matters.

Task Code

The Center for Claims Resolution’s task code must be entered as part of the TABS III fee description. Each task code must be surrounded by a pair of brackets (i.e., "[" and "]" characters). The TASKBILL program will extract the task codes from the description, put them in the correct location in the export file, and erase them from the cost description.

Expense Code

The Center for Claims Resolution’s expense code must be entered as part of the TABS III cost description. Each expense code must be surrounded by a pair of brackets (i.e., "[" and "]" characters). The TASKBILL program will extract the expense codes from the description, put them in the correct location in the export file, and erase them from the cost description.

Client Code

The Center for Claims Resolution’s three character client code must be entered as a part of the TABS III fee or cost description. Each client code must be surrounded by a pair of brackets (i.e., "[" and "]" characters). The TASKBILL program will extract the client codes from the description, put them in the correct location in the export file, and erase them from the fee or cost description.

Note: All transactions, whether they are fees or costs, must have the three character client code. It must be entered after the task code (for fees) or the expense code (for costs) in a second set of brackets.

Other Field

There is one other field you need to make sure has been set up in TABS III to ensure the correct information is exported for the Center for Claims Resolution. The TABS III work description must correspond to the Center for Claims Resolution’s case description.
